Was not it back in the 80's? l remember England winning the World cup 22-11-03 and then beating the whingeing Aussies again four years later.
But it is been so long since they beat us in a tournament it is slipped my mind.

Fair call. The last time was the 1991 World Cup Final which Australia won 12-6. Prior to that they had also won in a Pool Match in Sydney in 1987, 19-6.
Since the 1991 final, Australia has lost to England in 1995 (quarter-final, 25-22), 2003 (final, 20-17) & 2007 (quarter-final, 12-10).

Interestingly, Australia has never lost to New Zealand at the World Cup (1991 SF 16-6; 2003 SF 22-10), while New Zealand has never lost to England (1991 18-12; 1995 45-29; 1999 30-16).

England is the only team to have reached a World Cup Final having already lost a match earlier in the tournament. They achieved this feat twice, in 1991 & 2007.

The last time Australia beat England in a rugby world cup match was the FINAL on the 2nd Novemebr 1991
