l am 13 yrs old and am going to college next year so this would be really helpful
l am a quick runner and can pace my self well.
i way in between 60 and 66kgs (not to be vain but it is the muscle)
i have good hands and a very good push l an scrum l have played
OPS flanker and BS flanker as well as winger, center 2nd 5 and prop
i am good at tackling (espicially talkcing half backs lol from of the scrum) l am between 5ft 4 and 5ft 8 l have average kicking skills and a good draw and pass
l enjoy playing OPSF the most because l can be with the forwards one moment and runnign out with the backs. this is one of the positions l think l am best at
so please help me it would be helpful cus l got college next year and l wanna play professional rugby

You guys have been real helpful, yes l might give scrum half/half back (as we call it in new zealand) but its just l was one of the biggest in my school so l was playing OPS and BS

Keep your options open if you're 13 youve got alot of growing to do so you dont know what you might end up playing.. maybe even lock.
Probably best way to do that is just keep doing what you've been doing until now, or really nail one position and it seems like maybe OPS is the way to go for you

l agree with John, you need to keep your options open, if you can learn several positions to a decent level, you will be a more valuable player at the next level, if you like playing open side, go with that but learn other positions.

At 13 you are probley to young to focus on one position just keep ur options open and wait and see where you end up. A good example is Jonah Lomu who played number 8 while in college because of his massiveness then Wing at the top level becasue of this speed and size

Eli Jones l play rugby for my school in Scotland and with the characteristics you have given me you should try scrum half. scrum half fits into all the positions you have done and l think you will enjoy it a lot.

Second Five Eights without a doubt. This position is crucial in defence, allows u to look to set up ur outside backs when on attack & develop ur ground finding & line breaking kicks & learn to throw in the late fend to break the line. You can always move back into the forwards (either Flank) later but at ur age it may be better to wait & see how ur body develops to suit ur position. You will have a much better idea of ur final position in about four years but in the meantime the above position will keep u moving ahead development-wise. Best wishes.
