just in case you dont know, sonny bill was the biggest superstar in rugby league and also the hardest hitter. he recently transferred to rugby union for a couple of million dollars over in europe. do you think he has what it takes to make it big in union like he has in league, and become an all black??

Its not a matter of not liking him its a matter of his commitment to a team.
l am sure the All Blacks want players who are fully committed and not do a bolt at the first sign of a dollar

No l dont think he will ever become an All Black, l cant see him coming back to NZ to serve his time, Air Newzealand Cup or Super 14, Not enough money in it. but the main reason is he probably wouldnt be good enough to crack the line up, there is now depth in the centers & loosies where he would likely play, also he isnt disciplined enough & his ''me'' attitude would not be accepted. If l am wrong that would be great, but he would have a long way to go before having a real shot. If he was serious about this being his dream he would have signed on with a new Zealand union! u cant be an AB playing in Europe!

If anyone can teach Sonny Bill to play rugby it is Tana Umaga and since that is his new coach who know is anything can happen. Only thing is if he does make it all the moaner is out there are gonna say that the AB is poached him from league. He does not ask to be judged by people he play is his sport how it should be played HARD

Before people start talking about him as an AB, it would be nice to actually see him on the field. At the rate he is going, his next game may well be next season.

As far as his defence goes, do not forget a player can be red carded for using a shoulder charge in rugby, which will affect SBW defence.

The other problem facing him from being an AB is will the selectors take a chance on him, knowing that he could go if he receives a better offer from elsewhere.

Well apparently he is on his way back to NZ at the end of the month or early next year (not sure which) because he is wanting to try & get into the Super 14 tournament next year - or the Air New Zealand Cup at the very least in 2009.

If he is already committed to coming back - then he surely knows he is not coming back for the money - because there is not any. Especially not in NZ anyway as far as a professional sport goes.

That being said it depends on his adaptability to the game & the commitments from whatever coaches he will have over here to discipline him on the sport too. His injury rate may also play a big part in his capabilities & therefore hinder him as he gets older.

So all things going well for him - l can perhaps see him as an All Black on the end of year tour for 2010 maybe (that'd be the earliest) otherwise 2011. l do not however think he will be at the level he needs to be to be a part of the Rugby World Cup squad.. but only time will tell.

He wont leave Europe while hes earning the money and he wont be paid that in NZ. And as good as he maybe everyone knows he is totally money orientated. Enough said.

Of course he has what it takes 2 b an AB, but the real question is, if so will he be able 2 give up the big bucks & come home 2 where hes really needed.

l am sure sonny will have no problems transfering to union just like brad thorn did but the big question is can the NZRU pay him enough to come here and play Super 14 and Air NZ cup and then also pay him enough to retain him (since he would have to take a signifacnt pay cut for leaving french club rugby)
